Zoo Events Group are on the hunt for practical, forward-thinking individuals to join our exciting events team over the summer. We require dedicated individuals who enjoy working outdoors, travelling the country and co-operating within small teams.

We specialise in the events industry to provide glamping to many prestigious and famous events and festivals all over the UK including Glastonbury, Boomtown, Wilderness & Lost Village to name but a few!

Hours: Minimum 45 hours per week. Hours can vary per week, it will consist of weekend work and working bank holidays

The position is temporary, start and end dates can be discussed with us.

Salary: Hourly Rate dependant on experience. We will also take on self-employed individuals.

This role is perfect for someone wanting to get their foot in the door of the event industry and who has practical, hands-on skills

Responsibilities and Duties

• Rigging Glamping sites within a team

• Furnishing the structures to their specification with various packages

• Attending events and festivals, front of house staff, exchanging money and authorising tickets

• Providing a concierge service to guests and checking them in

• Loading/unloading vehicles

• Team leading and managing small teams

Qualifications and Skills

  • Good time keeping and practically minded
  • Happy to work weekends and overtime
  • Good level of fitness
  • UK driving licence and own transport as the premises is in a rural location

 

Desirable Skills (not essential but very beneficial):

  • Qualifications or experience in event management or hospitality
  • Lorry or towing licenses (C1, C1+E, B+E)
  • Forklift licence or experience

Contract

  • Work is available from May to September 2019.
  • Food is provided on the set up and breakdown days.
  • Sites are located across the UK. We offer transport from our HQ near Salisbury and, if driving, will provide a driving rate.

Set Up & Breakdown

  • Set up purpose-built event kitchen and buy groceries and supplies from local supermarkets.
  • Prepare 4 meals a day and clean and wash up after the crew.
  • Manage the kitchen area.
  • Clean and pack away the event kitchen.

Working conditions

  • The Chefs typically camp in the boutique campsite from the Monday before the event to the Monday after.
  • The campsite contains electricity, water, communal area, seating and showers and posh toilets during the event.

Requirements

  • Due to the intense and outdoor nature of this work, applicants must detail relevant experience if they want to be considered.
  • Compile meal plans and shopping lists in accordance with daily budgets.
  • Remain organised and focused to buy ingredients and deliver meals to strict deadlines.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • You work in a team so it is imperative that you have strong interpersonal skills and are a team player.
  • You need to be comfortable camping on-site for days at a time and provide your own tent, bedding and waterproofs.
  • You must prove that you have the legal right to work in the UK and, if haven’t done so already, register as self-employed. We can provide advice on how to do this.

We are on the lookout for experienced Counterbalance Forklift Drivers to join our team. This is a fast-paced demanding role working on site and in out warehouse, loading and unloading vehicles for upcoming events. We require dedicated individuals who enjoy working outdoors, travelling the country and co-operating within small teams.

We specialise in the events industry to provide glamping to many prestigious and famous events and festivals all over the UK including Glastonbury, Boomtown, Wilderness & Lost Village to name but a few!

Key responsibilities and Duties:

  • Unloading and loading lorries
  • Moving stock within confined spaces and to tight deadlines
  • Identify stock labels and move parts so that they are accessible for Production
  • Produce despatch notes using our in-house systems
  • Working within a team to meet deadlines

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience of operating a counterbalance forklift truck within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Have experience of working in a logistics/distribution or warehouse environment
  • Ability to follow procedures and work within health & safety policies and procedures
  • Have an adaptable flexible attitude, be able to work collaboratively with others, both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be able to work to a varied shift pattern
  • Be willing to undertake compulsory overtime as and when required

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HGV /LGV Driver at Zoo Events Group, based around the Salisbury area, we are looking for an experienced driver who is willing to work independently and together as a team to ensure our equipment is efficiently delivered.

We specialise in the events industry to provide glamping to many prestigious and famous events and festivals all over the UK including Glastonbury, Boomtown, Wilderness & Lost Village to name but a few!

Contract Type: Temporary Full-Time

Hours will vary, they may exceed 40 hours a week which may include weekend work.

Salary: Hourly Rate dependant on experience and licence type.

Required Skills / Licences:

  • Either a C1+E/ C1 or Class 1 licence
  • Digi tacho card
  • CPC Driver card
  • Willing to work weekends and be flexible with hours
  • Good level of fitness

The Role:

  • Loading/unloading equipment from vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Delivering equipment on time and assisting with on-site basic rigging and positioning of equipment.
  • General ad hoc duties around our premise, including cleaning and tidying the workshop and vehicles

Desirable Skills (but not essential):

  • Experience in towing trailers
  • Forklift licence or experience

Full training will be provided on how to safely load and manoeuvre our equipment.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join Zoo Events Group as an Office Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting sales, liaising with clients, handling all forms of enquiries and general tasks within our office.

At Zoo Events Group we specialise in the hire of luxury event facilities for all kinds of occasions. ZooLoos provides high end washrooms and ZooBells install lavish ‘glamping’ accommodation.

We’re looking for someone who is excellent at prioritising tasks and who can think on their feet. Punctuality is key, and a friendly and approachable manner is required when speaking to colleagues and clients.

Hours: 8am-5pm Monday – Friday (you may be asked to work in excess of these hours and occasionally weekends)

This position is temporary and we would like the candidate to start in April until late September but we are flexible.

Hourly pay: Rate dependant on experience

The Role:

  • Supporting the office staff with preparing and gathering quotes, as well as generating sales leads and securing events.
  • Booking travel and accommodation for staff and purchasing products as required
  • Liaising with clients over the phone or through email. Answering the phone and taking detailed notes and responding to emails promptly
  • Preparing various documents, Health and safety reports and site plans
  • Taking a lead role in the company’s social and online presence. Creating online and paper advertisements promoting what we do.
  • General administrative support to the Office Manager and Directors.

 

Required/desirable skills:

  • Good knowledge of social media platforms, how to engage with audiences and how to promote products
  • Experience in using Word, Excel and Powerpoint – other creative software would be very beneficial e.g. Photoshop, Indesign
  • Previous administrative, secretarial or sales led experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and an ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Polite phone manner, excellent grammar and a quick learner.
